UNLTD_XYZ deliver striking signage using Applelec's faux neon range, NeonLux.

Held in January 2020 at the Excel, London, Bett show focuses on the education technology landscape, bringing together over 800 leading companies and over 34,000 attendees.

Exhibiting at this year’s event, Adobe’s mission was to demonstrate how creativity makes the difference in inspiring education and career paths. In designing the stand, UNLTD_XYZ created a stand that interpreted and developed a 3D brand language around Adobe’s urban youthful multimedia campaign, ‘Make the Leap’, which encourages young creators to jump into creative processes, take risks and push beyond the expected.

The campaign focus provided opportunity to develop an urban and industrial aesthetic that would be more engaging to the target group and create real impact, helping Adobe further emphasise its standing in the education market.

The exhibition was designed with an open plan scheme to create a welcoming environment and incorporated a number of interactive zones. As part of the stand design, UNLTD_XYZ selected Applelec’s neon style lettering range, NeonLux to identify the different areas within the exhibition stand and for the retro lettering design to complement the urban, industrial style of the stand.

NeonLux was used to create four sets of lettering ‘Q&A’, ‘Training Academy’, ‘Capture, Make, Share’ and ‘#CreateEdu’. Stretching an impressive 3000mm at their widest, the lettering was manufactured in a mixture of vivid colours to create eye-catching and stylised signage. Manufactured from 40mm thick block acrylic, the lettering was mounted on to the industrial metal mesh framework, achieving an urban and edgy design.

Michael Crotch, Head of Signage said:

‘The client was looking to create retro style signage that would work well against the industrial aesthetics of the stand, and for this Applelec NeonLux was selected for its robust manufacture and realistic neon style finish, which faithfully replicates traditional glass neon signage. Expertise were required for this project for fitting the signage as there were three different walls types, all of which required its own fixing details and set of wiring exits.’
