Frequently Asked Questions.

How do I sign off a job

You will be presented with a final visual detailing the specified dimensions and colours. This will be your final check and you will sign this off for manufacture.

Do Applelec provide fitting templates and wiring diagrams

Every job we manufacture will come with the relevant fixing template and wiring guide. If you require something more complex the team will be pleased to help.

Can Applelec provide structural advice and calculation for wind bearing?

For those more technical jobs, your Account Manager will be able to provide the structural engineering calculations needed to conform to the required safety and structural regulations.

Is Applelec the right company on simple signage with a quick turnaround?

Our in-house UK manufacturing allows us to respond to your deadlines, no matter the scale of your project.

Does Applelec have the expertise and project management skills to support a rebranding project rollout?

Our production team and Account Managers have years of experience in this field, working on complex, ongoing, multi-site projects. We work with you to ensure full understanding of your requirements, supporting you and your project plan.

When should I upgrade 316 grade stainless steel?

316 grade stainless steel is a purer, better quality steel than the standard 304 grade. It should be noted that it costs considerably more than 304 and therefore is usually only specified in coastal locations where it is more robust, protecting against contamination from salt.

What is the minimum depth on face illuminated letters?

We can face illuminate fabricated letters from 40mm in depth, and 25mm in depth on block acrylic, dependant on artwork.

What type of fixing method do I need?

Applelec signage experts will provide the best fixing options, appropriate to your requirements.

Why are you suggesting amends to my specification / design?

Applelec will always strive to give the best advice. If we can think of ways to improve the design, then we will. Our signage experts will advise if a project has potential pitfalls and will advise the best way to achieve your objectives.

Can you supply O&M information on the sign?

Yes, speak to your Account Manager who will be able to supply this.

If the sign has been fitted correctly, and a reputable LED has been used with a long warranty  then the sign should illuminate for years without any attention. An occasional wipe to clean will always enhance the look of your sign and remove any dirt and airborne contamination.

The power supply can be housed at quite a distance from the sign as long as the running wire that leads from the power supply to the LED’s is adequate enough to carry the low voltage current. Ask your Account Manager for more details.

Your Account Manager will be able to advise on the illumination levels at the time of quoting and offer advice and guidance to help with your planning application.

Our Design Engineer will be able to calculate the approximate weight once the design has been agreed.

We understand that being able to show your client a sample of a product finish can not only speed up the ordering process and prevent customer dissatisfaction, but it can also make an order more profitable. For this reason we offer you a wide selection of samples which your Account Manager can help you with.
