Signage Trends for 2022

As we begin 2022, we look to the potential trends in the signage industry to help us anticipate the needs of you and your customers and let you know how Applelec can help you succeed in 2022. Now more than ever, companies are looking for ways to adapt to unpredictable times whilst retaining and growing business. The key trends for 2022 highlight a desire for simplicity, reliability, authenticity, and social responsibility.

Minimalism – A new form of minimalism is on the rise. Black font on a white background is no longer the only minimalist option, as designers are focusing more on simple designs that are bright and attractive, allowing the logo to stand out. This trend combines, sophistication, simplicity, and vibrancy to create eye catching designs that move away from data overload, towards eye catching designs that allow the brand to speak for itself.

Reliability – After the turbulent years we are still navigating through, the need to feel both comforted and steady is understandably a predicted trend for 2022. This includes a need for the nostalgic from traditional serif fonts to geometric shapes to retro style designs. These both communicate a feeling of reliability and comfort, something brands are keen to portray in these uncertain times.

Authenticity – Branding is no longer just your website, your branded stationary, or your marketing, 2022 will see a shift towards more environmental branding and extending the brand experience into the physical environment. Not only does it create a pleasant and motivating working environment for staff, but it highlights your dedication to the work that you do and the passion your company has for it, which in turn projects brand authenticity.

Social Responsibility – Although environmental impact is a suggested trend for 2022, it’s safe to say this is not a passing phase. The need for companies to be more socially responsible is a global one and something that will cease to be a trend and become an expected way of life. Customers no longer expect just a product but want to understand its impact on the environment. Being able to offer environmentally friend alternatives will become an essential part of signage manufacturing.
