We sent our Head of Specification, Sandi Moolman along to Sign Design Society’s twilight tour of Borough Yard, led by f.r.a. Directors Wesley Meyer and Jamie Trippier who were appointed to design the wayfinding and placemaking for this 160,000 sq. ft mixed use development.
This innovative project pushed the boundaries of wayfinding merging practicality with creativity, using ghost signs, wall murals and ‘hidden’ designs that encourage people to explore and interact with the space time and time again.
“This was such an interesting project that combined wayfinding, storytelling and art to create an exploratory experience that blended the old with the new effortlessly,” said Sandi. “It was great to get insight into the creative and collaborative process behind the project, whilst being in the environment itself, a really enjoyable event.”
