Applelec Sign Components won the award for 'best Sign Supplier of the year'. This was an award with a difference!
Unlike every other award category, this one has been decided by the industry at large. The organisers provided the opportunity for suppliers and/or their customers to nominate the business for the services/products they offer to the industry. In total nine businesses were nominated for the award. All nominated companies were then listed on the SIA website and the sign industry ‘public’ was then given the opportunity to vote. An email address had to be provided with each vote cast for verification purposes. A total of 1,315 votes were cast. Bradford-based Applelec was nominated for the services it provides to customers in the area of LEDs. Formed in 1998, Applelec is a trade supplier for sign companies offering a wide range of products ranging from totems to built-up and flat-cut letters. However, they are recognised as a specialist in the area of LED technology, offering a wide range of products and backing this with a technical and advice service designed to help sign makers achieve the optimum solutions for sign illumination.
