Applelec Sign Components Ltd. has been involved with numerous projects over the years for the Sign Industry awards, where it has supported its customers in a variety of different ways. Below is a selection of the awards where Applelec has been given kind permission to mention, awards that we were highly privileged to be a part of.

Sign Supplier of the Year 2008
Applelec Sign Components, Bradford, England.
“An award with a difference! Unlike every other award category, this one has been decided by the industry at large. We provided the opportunity for suppliers and their customers to nominate a supplier and their products. All nominated companies were then listed on the SIA website where the sign industry ‘public’ was then given the opportunity to vote.“
Bradford based Applelec was nominated for the services it provides to its customers in the area of LEDs. Applelec is the winner with 326 votes out of 1315 that were cast.

The Sign UK Retail Sign of the Year 2006
For We Care Pharmacies, Northern Ireland, by IDGNI.
The execution is a total quality multi-media extravaganza, spanning the whole gamut of a modern sign company's output. Above the door, ‘We Care’ radiates both its trading name and a quality aura via a set of fabricated bronzed titanium coloured lettering on supporting decorative polished steel structures. The flawless work was produced in concert with Applelec.

The SNS Illuminated Sign of the Year 2005
For Intercontinental Hotel, Vienna by Ashleigh Signs
Ashleigh’s brief, through signage and lighting, was to create a new ambience for the exterior of the hotel and, at the same, time to meet the Intercontinental’s strict guidelines on quality and brand image. Their aim was to create a "welcoming island floating on a sea of light" and using a range of materials, including dual vision vinyl (blue by day and white by night), LED lighting and halo lighting effects – plus a team of specially trained abseilers - they succeeded.

The Perspex Sign of the Year 2004
Bibis Criterion Restaurant, Leeds, by Ashleigh Signs
A genuine work of art. The hand-crafted art deco figure coated in cosmic chrome stands on a flower petal motif created from flat cut and then shaped stainless steel. The lettering of the logo is built-up black effect titanium coated stainless steel. Special lighting includes green, blue and white LEDs plus a special sweeping searchlight effect trained on the statue. Quite literally a brilliant example of the sign makers craft.
